Hardlight is a fast paced Cyberpunk shooter where you manage automated defense systems against waves of enemies. You place turrets and drones on a grid to block incoming threats while conserving energy and upgrading tech. The prototype feel is apparent in the stripped down visuals and short campaign but the core loop of strategy and quick reflexes shines through. Each level forces tough decisions about resource allocation and positioning with minimal tutorial guidance. Made in three weeks by a small team this indie title has a rough edges but offers a solid foundation for its genre. Released in 2019 it remains a niche pick for players who enjoy tactical shooting with a focus on system management over action. The PC only release and single player format keep it low key but fans of minimalist simulation games might find its blend of planning and rapid combat refreshing. The game lacks polish but the core ideas hold potential for expansion.
