Hatchwell is a top-down RPG where you spend a single day figuring out small-town oddities. As the mayor’s assistant, you wander neighborhoods, talk to townsfolk, and poke into suspicious happenings disrupting the annual festival. Combat is minimal but quirky, blending light action with puzzle-solving as you interact with objects and characters to piece together what’s wrong. The town shifts subtly as time passes, altering paths and clues to keep things fresh. The game stands out for its calm, methodical pacing and atmospheric setting. While combat rarely lasts more than a few seconds, the focus on dialogue and environmental storytelling gives it a cozy mystery vibe. Released in 2022, it runs on PC Switch and Mac with a runtime around six hours. Players appreciate the low-stakes charm but note some repetitive side tasks.

Storyline

Everyone is preparing for the Hatchwell Festival, but a series of curious events will make you help the Mayor investigate these unwanted occurrences. You must explore different areas near and within the town and investigate what's causing these events that seem to worsen as the day goes by!
