Hauntsville drops you in a desolate frontier town where every shadow hides something hungry. As a lone survivor or with up to three allies, you scavenge ruins, raise crops, and fortify a base while fending off folklore-inspired horrors. Combat relies on careful gunplay and resource management, ammo is scarce, and the night brings relentless threats. The open world mixes eerie towns and untamed wilderness, demanding you balance exploration with base defense. The game stands out for its tense pacing and atmospheric western horror. Developer Michael Janisch crafts a world where isolation and cooperation shift dynamically; helping others can mean sharing scarce tools or defending posts together. With no named characters or hand-holding, the focus stays on survival’s grind and the creeping dread of what’s out there. Its co-op mode adds weight to every decision, succeed or fail as a group.
As a traveler without a name, you find yourself stranded in a ghost town on the frontier. Everyone is gone, including the hired hand and the horses supposed to carry you over the mountain. But the howling in the distance means that you won't be alone for soon. Better check your iron, partner, for it's the only thing between you and monsters that lurk everywhere in the Cursed West. Hauntsville is a western horror survival game, set in the heyday of the American West. Stranded with just the clothes on your back (and up to three of your hopefully closest friends), you'll have to work the land to make it through the night. Build a homestead, search the haunted town for supplies or try to survive on what you can find in the wild, pursued by creatures straight from North American folklore!
