Headhunter casts you as Jack Wade a bounty hunter hunting criminals in a cyberpunk city. Play from a third person perspective as you chase targets through alleys and rooftops using a mix of shooting stealth and acrobatics. Your motorcycle serves as transport between missions letting you navigate a large city map. Combat feels twitchy with options to duck roll or flatten against walls to peek around corners. Progress is tied to unlocking licenses via VR training at LEILA which gradually expands your access to tools weapons and areas. Each license earned through combat stealth or driving challenges opens new parts of the map and abilities. What stands out is the blend of fast-paced brawling and methodical exploration. The motorcycle segments add a light racing element while the license system creates a slow burn progression. Though it received mixed reviews at launch (Metacritic 60) fans praise the game’s lean action design and early 2000s cyberpunk vibe. The fragmented narrative and amnesiac protagonist don’t break new ground but fit the genre well. For a quick pick-up-and-play action title with a focus on skill-based upgrades Headhunter offers a brisk if niche experience.
