About

Headhunter: Redemption drops you into a fractured future where two worlds clash. Play as Jack Wade, a hardened enforcer navigating a high-tech city above ground and a lawless subterranean sprawl below. Team up with Leeza X to root out threats using a mix of gunplay and stealth. The camera follows you from a third-person angle, letting you swivel freely or lock it behind your back. A key tool is the IRIS scanner, which lets you analyze objects, map environments in 3D, and track enemy positions. Combat demands timing, dodge attacks, lean around cover, and fire while on the move though aiming gets tricky when you’re scrambling. The IRIS system stands out as both a helper and a hindrance, forcing you to balance caution and aggression. Enemies swarm if they hear you, turning mistakes into chaotic firefights. Reviews note the tension of avoiding detection in tight spaces, though some found the control scheme clunky. Released in 2004 for Xbox and PlayStation 2, it’s a forgotten action title that leans into its dual-world setting with decent level design. The split between Above and Below never fully clicks as a narrative hook but provides a solid backdrop for its blend of scanning, sneaking, and shooting.
