Heartland was a first person shooter designed for the PlayStation Portable that never reached store shelves. You played as a soldier defending American soil against a massive Chinese invasion force. The game featured standard gunplay and movement mechanics common to the genre, letting you take down waves of enemies across various maps. It followed a linear campaign structure where players moved from one combat zone to the next to push back the invading army. This title gained attention in gaming circles simply because it was canceled so late in development. Many collectors still seek out prototype builds or leaked footage to see what the final product might have looked like on handheld hardware.
