Heckpoint is a chaotic mix of hack 'n' slash brawling and rogue-lite progression. You play as one of seven characters slashing through hordes of invaders in six glitchy, procedurally generated worlds. Each run lets you collect strange matter to swap between 70+ weapon upgrades, stat boosts, and abilities. Fight up close with melee takedowns or rain down attacks from the sky. The worlds themselves are hostile, walk too far back and meteors will炸 you for retreating. Three distinct modes shift the stakes: Endless is a never-ending horde, Onslaught adds toughened enemies and a midpoint boss, and Warpath forces you to keep moving as the map collapses behind you. The game stands out for its punishing yet fair difficulty and the sheer variety of loadout combinations. Players online note the 70+ upgrade system feels fresh even after dozens of runs. Destructible environments and elite enemies that drop better loot keep each world feeling reactive. The soundtrack by Two Iron Fists adapts to the action without overpowering sound effects. Released in 2017, it’s still a favorite among fans of fast-paced, permadeath action games. Available on PC with single-player only.
