Hexpert is an arcade game for the Commodore 64 released in late 1983. It tasks you with maneuvering a character across a grid flipping sections to change their color while dodging bouncing enemies. The goal is to turn all panels a single color before time runs out with increasing challenges as you progress. Simple controls and fast paced action make it easy to pick up but tough to master. Though it borrows heavily from Q*Bert mechanics Hexpert adds minor tweaks to level design and enemy behavior. Playing now feels nostalgic but dated with pixelated graphics and basic sound effects typical of the era. Its brief runtime and lack of online stats mean it rarely pops up in modern discussions but diehard 8 bit enthusiasts might seek it for the throwback challenge. Limited to single player the game remains a curious footnote in C64 library history.
