About

Hokuto no Ken 4 is a turn-based RPG set in the Fist of the North Star universe. You play a young martial artist navigating a lawless 21st-century world plunged into a third dark age. Kenshiro’s missing, so it’s up to you to fight rising warlords and restore order. Combat uses a grid-based system where positioning and timing matter. Characters gain skills through experience, letting you build playstyles around speed, defense, or elemental attacks. The story follows a small crew as they uncover political schemes and ancient secrets tied to the Hokuto Shinken style. The game’s script leans into the series’ signature mix of gritty survivalism and over-the-top violence. Hiroshi Toda’s writing ties lore directly to the anime’s established mythos, a detail fans of the 1980s adaptations notice immediately. While it doesn’t chart new territory for the genre, the tight combat loop and direct callbacks to classic arcs earn it a 78% on RPGamer. Developed for the Family Computer in 1991, it’s a straightforward but polished entry in a niche franchise.

However, there's a young man who now follows the path of a martial artist...
