"There is simply not a lot to like about Homefront: The Revolution. It is hard to divorce this game from the development hell it has been through, which is even acknowledged at the opening of the credits. Having gone from THQ, to Crytek, to now Deep Silver, this was a game plagued by development teams that stopped working before it was finished. Despite all of their work, the game does nothing worthwhile, and isn't something I would recommend to anyone."

About

Homefront: The Revolution drops you into an alternate 2016 where North Korean forces have seized control of the US. You play a resistance fighter coordinating hit-and-run attacks, using stealth, sabotage, and firepower to disrupt the occupation. The campaign emphasizes guerrilla tactics, planting explosives, hijacking vehicles, and ambushing patrols, while a base-building element lets you upgrade safehouses and recruit allies. Combat mixes run-and-gun shooting with moments of strategic planning, though the rigid mission structure can feel repetitive. The Goliath Edition bundles the base game with a steelbook case, a 32-page art book, and a radio-controlled Goliath mech replica. It also includes the fresh Spirit Pack and Expansion Pass DLC, adding new missions and customization options. While the base game’s 2014 Metacritic score of 73 reflects solid but uneven design, the edition’s physical extras appeal to collectors. The Goliath mech itself becomes a key late-game weapon, turning tanks into scrap with its fist, making it a standout mechanical highlight.
