Hopkins FBI is a 1998 point-and-click adventure with shooter moments. You play FBI agent J. Hopkins hunting a killer who took his fiancée. Solve puzzles to track clues while switching to a gun in action scenes. The game mixes dialogue trees with timed combat, all set to 90s-era synth music. Each decision affects the story flow, but the interface feels sluggish at times. Community ratings hover around 75% on Metacritic, with many praising the campy tone over technical polish. The Linux port is a surprise bonus for retro fans. While the writing leans into dated serial-killer tropes, the execution of its oddball premise still works for a niche crowd. Dated visuals can't hide the charm of its over-the-top plot twists and awkwardly earnest dialogue.
