About

Horké Léto is a point-and-click adventure set in 1998 that follows Honza Majer, a teenager with a sharp tongue and a knack for getting into trouble. His botanist father drags the family to a remote Pacific island for research, but things go south when everyone except Honza is captured by locals with... questionable intentions. The game tasks you with navigating dense jungles, solving puzzles, and untangling family drama through a mix of snarky dialogue and inventory-based challenges. The controls are straightforward, relying on classic point-and-click mechanics to explore environments and interact with characters. The game stands out for its blend of dark humor and quirky characters, anchored by Honza’s brash personality. It became the top-selling Czech game of 1998, praised for its original storytelling and lighthearted take on survival scenarios. While the graphics and sound design show their age, the brisk pacing and memorable interactions keep it engaging for fans of old-school adventures. Its success spawned a series, but this first entry remains a cult favorite in its home country.

Storyline

The main character of the game is Honza Majer, who introduces himself at the beginning of the game with the words: "I am an ordinary kid. Guys call me Rambo and girls asshole. Otherwise, I'm Majer. Honza Majer". Honza's father is a professor of Botanics and decides to take his whole family to a pacific island to study local flora. One day the whole family except Majer gets captured by cannibals and so then he sets off to rescue them.
