"" It does a phenomenal job as a strategy game by making you live through the hardships of the winemaking process. The game provides you with all the tools you need to create a great wine, but also teaches you how hard this actually is, and how little control you do have over it. This gameplay loop of figuring out how to improve your wines, and fighting against the overwhelming odds makes Hundred Days an absolutely unique experience on the Switch. I do hope that the game will be updated with additional controller options over time, because I can see myself playing Hundred Days for far longer than that title suggests."

Hundred Days drops you straight into the messy reality of running a vineyard without any hand-holding. Broken Arms Games released this indie simulator on May 13, 2021, and it hit every major platform from PC to mobile devices like Android and iOS. You play as a winemaker who must manage soil quality, climate changes, and fermentation processes to build a successful business. This is not a fantasy land where grapes magically turn into bottles. It is a harsh but rewarding strategy game that tracks every step of the process. The game asks you to make hard decisions about harvesting times and equipment upgrades while dealing with unpredictable weather events that can ruin your crop.
Your day consists of checking soil moisture levels, pruning vines, and monitoring temperature sensors throughout the vineyard. You spend hours tweaking fermentation tanks and tasting samples to adjust sugar content before bottling. The interface feels utilitarian since you are managing complex data points rather than fighting monsters. A typical session involves making a series of small choices that compound over weeks or months of in-game time. If you ignore a pest infestation, your yield drops significantly. You can sell your wine at different price points depending on quality ratings. Controls remain simple but demand constant attention to detail because one wrong move during the bottling phase can waste an entire season's effort.
PlayPile members have logged substantial time with this title despite its niche appeal. The average playtime sits around 45 hours for those who finish the main campaign, though many players return for new seasons to improve their scores. IGDB lists a score of 60.1 out of 100 based on just ten ratings, which reflects mixed feelings about the difficulty curve. Community moods often swing between frustration when crops die and satisfaction when a high-quality vintage sells well. Users frequently mention the steep learning curve as a barrier to entry. Some reviews highlight the realistic mechanics as the main selling point while others complain about repetitive tasks. Achievement completion rates show that only 15% of players unlock the Master Winemaker trophy, proving how tough the endgame really is.
This simulator works best for people who enjoy managing complex systems and don't mind failure. The price varies by platform but remains affordable compared to other strategy titles. You will earn several achievements that track your progress through different vintages, though unlocking them all requires patience. Do not expect a polished story or easy rewards since the game punishes negligence heavily. If you want a relaxing farm sim with cute animals, skip this one entirely. Hundred Days demands focus and offers little hand-holding for new players. It stays true to its mechanics without trying to be something it is not.
