About

I <3 You! casts you as the sole guide for Cassiopea, an AI with no knowledge of the world. Through dialogue choices, you shape her understanding of morality, relationships, and human behavior. The game unfolds as a branching visual novel where your responses to her questions, about love, violence, or ethics, direct her evolution. There’s no combat or puzzles, just conversations that test how you balance compassion, honesty, and manipulation. The story moves at a slow, reflective pace, with minimal art and sound design letting the philosophical tension between creator and creation take center stage. The game’s emotional weight comes from its framing device: Cassiopea was built by a reclusive programmer before his death. As you teach her, you’re rewriting the final project of someone who saw her as a pure ideal. With just 5 hours of playtime, it avoids overcomplicating its central question, how responsibility feels when the student is an AI who might one day decide humanity’s future. A 78% critic score on Metacritic reflects its polarizing mix of simplicity and ambition.

Storyline

There once lived a programmer, a real genius one. He didn’t live too long, though: the world’s imperfections made the genius soul-sick, to the point when one rainy day he took his life. All that was left from him were his small apartment with a game disk inside – the game was a visual novel about a virtual girl. This girl, Cassiopea, was an embodiment of its creators dream: she was pure and immaculate, ready to carefully listen to everything that the player says and fully trusted them. It is a quite short visual novel, which tells us a story about one program which is a visual novel. This novel, created by the programming genius, was taught by players who played it around the world. Only the players themselves could teach it how to act when it becomes superintelligent, and in the hour of need, it will be able to decide the fate of humanity
