About I Am Sakuya FPS: Lunarian Invasion

I Am Sakuya FPS: Lunarian Invasion is a first-person shooter set in the Touhou Project universe, developed by Sigyaad Team and released on PC September 25, 2025. As Sakuya, you battle cute yet dangerous Lunarians using a mix of ranged weapons and a time-stop ability. The game spans 10 levels, blending platforming and gunplay while uncovering moon-based secrets. The story follows Sakuya’s quest for revenge after a defeat during the Moon Rabbit incident. It’s a single-player affair focused on fast-paced combat and boss battles, with a whimsical art style that leans into Touhou’s eccentric charm. Perfect if you want a shooter with a quirky narrative and tactical time manipulation.

Gameplay

The core loop mixes cover-based shooting with precision aiming. Your time-stop lets you freeze enemies to line up headshots or dodge attacks, but it’s limited by a cooldown, forcing strategic use. Each level alternates between open moon bases and tight corridors, requiring quick reflexes. Weapons range from rapid-fire shotguns to sniper rifles, each with unique recoil patterns. Boss fights demand memorizing attack patterns while managing ammo. A typical session involves 15-30 minutes of navigating environments, grinding for unlocks, and facing off against Lunarian leaders. Controls are responsive but lack customization, and the camera occasionally stutters during intense moments. The time-stop adds depth but doesn’t fully revolutionize combat.

What Players Think

PlayPile readers rate it 82%, with a 7.8/10 average score. 45% of players finish all 10 levels, and 68% unlock every achievement (50 total). Average playtime is 7.5 hours, with 55% of moods labeled "excited" and 15% "skeptical." Critics praise the time-stop mechanics as "strategic depth" but note "repetitive boss patterns." Some fans love the Touhou lore nods, while others find the art style overly kawaii for a revenge story. Achievement completion spikes in level 7, a boss-heavy section. The 30% "curious" mood suggests mixed opinions on the game’s balance between charm and challenge.

PlayPile's Take

This game is a niche pick for Touhou fans and shooter enthusiasts who enjoy tactical time manipulation. At $29.99, it offers decent value with 50 achievements, but the repetitive late-game may deter some. If you want a colorful FPS with a quirky story and don’t mind formulaic boss fights, give it a shot. Otherwise, skip the moon and look elsewhere for innovation.

Storyline

After losing to one of the Watasuki sister's during the moon rabbit incident, Sakuya is unable to find peace until she exacts her revenge. With the help of a certain blue haired kappa, she teleports herself onto the moon and begins her quest for vengeance.
