I Spy is a point-and-click adventure with a warped sense of humor and a surreal narrative. You play as Mika Huy, a photographer investigating the death of Bill Cosby in a bizarre town called Reality-on-the-Norm. The game uses a mouse-driven interface where right-clicking cycles through actions like moving, examining, or interacting. A menu at the top of the screen lets you manage inventory or save progress. The story unfolds through quirky characters and offbeat puzzles, blending absurdity with a murder mystery. The game stands out for its strange tone and meta-humor, often breaking the fourth wall or mocking genre tropes. While short and a bit rough around the edges, it’s a cult favorite among fans of experimental point-and-clicks. Its 2001 release predates many modern indie adventures, yet its irreverent style feels oddly ahead of its time. Community discussions often highlight its unpredictability, no two scenes play the same way.
When the news of Bill Cosby's death in the town of Reality-on-the-Norm shake the nation, Mika Huy - a tabloid photographer - arrives into Reality in order to make a photo of Bill's corpse. But on her way, she comes across some most peculiar individuals and things, and the discovery of Bill Cosby's body might be more breathtaking than she expected... The game is controlled with a mouse; similarly to Sam & Max Hit The Road, right-clicking changes the cursor action (Walk to, Look at, Interact with, Talk to), while moving the cursor to the top of the screen makes a menu appear, allowing you to easily change the cursor actions, access one's inventory or save/load/quit the game.
