You pilot a ship through chaotic waves of enemies in Icewall a high speed shooter with roguelite progression. Each run is a timed assault where you collect powerups and upgrade your ship between waves. The action is nonstop and vibrantly colored with enemies and lasers that pop off the screen. You choose loadouts before each run and tweak strategies as you learn what works against the shifting threats. The difficulty ramps quickly but the pacing keeps you hooked for just one more try. Community ratings on Steam hover around 4.5 out of 5 with players praising the tight controls and escalating tension. What sets it apart is the way each run feels distinct thanks to procedural generation and optional challenges. The story about a mysterious floating cube that lures hackers into its deadly tests adds a retro cyberpunk flavor without slowing the action. At 30 minutes of core content it leans short but the roguelite loop and upgrade tree encourage repeated attempts.
“No one knew where the construct came from, one day it just suddenly appeared. A glowing cube floating in cyberspace, with big letters on its side reading: ICEwall. The construct seemingly had no purpose and yet it contained a series of programs, ICE, designed to eliminate intruders, as if its sole purpose was to challenge us. The other runners and I were instantly hooked, like kids spending all their money playing arcade machines.” - ROTN, Console Cowboy
