Import Tuner Challenge is a street racing game centered on Tokyo's Shuto Expressways. You take control of a driver chasing the "Speed King" title left vacant by a retired legend. The game focuses on high-speed drifts and acceleration battles across four highway routes, including two new Tokyo sections. With 415 opponents to race, the emphasis is on mastering tight corners and overtaking in single-player and online modes. Customization options for cars are limited compared to other tuner games but prioritize raw racing skill over extensive upgrades. The game’s story weaves personal drama into its competitive framework. The protagonist faces off against gangs like Phantom 9 while uncovering the Speed King’s tragic past. Though it lacks the broader Japanese highway coverage of similar titles, the dense Tokyo traffic and rival count keep the pace intense. Player reviews note its addictive replay value but highlight a steep learning curve. The blend of narrative beats and aggressive racing makes it a niche pick for fans of arcade-style tuner games.
After the 13 Devils have been defeated once more in the Kaido Circuit, Motoya Iwasaki, aka Speed King, disappeared suddenly, leaving without a trace. Since then, many drivers from all the Japan come to Tokyo in order to have his title of "Speed King". The hero here is the best friend of Iwasaki and beats Bloodhound, Midnight Cinderella, Platinium Prince, Skull Bullet's gang & eventually, the Phantom 9. In the meantime, Bloodhound reveals to the racer why Iwasaki has been depressed for a long time : his girlfriend died because she was ill and Iwasaki wasn't there to support her.
