Indy 4 is a two player racing game from Atari released in late 1976. Each player controls a car using a dedicated steering wheel and four pedals. The goal is to race around a track while avoiding collisions and trying to overtake the opponent. The game uses a full color RGB display without color overlays a technical detail that was rare for arcade games at the time. The cabinet is large and square designed to fit both players and their controls. The cabinet design is the main draw featuring overhead mirrors that let spectators watch the action from above. This made it a social experience with onlookers able to view the screen through the mirrors. With its competitive multiplayer and use of vibrant color Indy 4 stood out in the early arcade scene. It remains a niche but notable example of 1970s arcade hardware and racing game evolution.
