In Insane Decay of Mind you take on the role of Katherine navigating the shifting corridors of a place that feels like a school but never quite adds up. The first person perspective locks you into her disorienting experience with flickering lights and warped geometry making every turn uncertain. Environmental clues hint at something wrong with the building and with Katherine herself but the story unfolds through atmosphere not dialogue. The game leans hard into psychological unease with tight spaces and distorted sounds amplifying tension. Players report the most memorable moments come from subtle details like repeating patterns that glitch or echoes that don’t match their source. Released in 2016 it remains a lean survival horror experience with a runtime of around five hours. Best played with lights on but don’t expect any clear answers by the end.
