Interior Worlds is a first-person exploration game that lets you wander decaying urban spaces and quiet architectural nooks. You move slowly through vacant offices, overgrown lots, and flickering corridors snapping photos with a digital camera. The gameplay focuses on quiet observation with minimal direction letting you linger in each area as long as you like. Simple mechanics emphasize the atmosphere with subtle sound design and soft lighting effects creating a meditative pace. The game’s appeal lies in its mood and attention to detail. Players often note how the empty spaces feel alive with potential stories hinted at by abandoned objects and half-remembered structures. Developer sodaraptor built the experience around gentle curiosity rather than urgency. Released in April 2023 it runs on PC and plays best with headphones to fully capture the layered audio work. Many describe it as a calming way to spend an hour or two though the lack of narrative might not suit everyone.
Empty lots. Blackened buildings. Dimly lit hallways. They all live and breathe just as we do. Welcome to Interior Worlds; an ambient first-person exploration game where you'll dive into strange, yet familiar spaces. Temporary gaps and portals we cross at some point or another - now yearning for a closer look. A look that can only be seen properly through the lens of an SLR camera.
