Interstellar tasks you with piloting a spacecraft through sci-fi landscapes to fend off invaders. Your ship moves left or right at the screen’s bottom, firing straight or diagonal shots by twisting the joystick. As enemies approach from afar, they grow larger and faster, requiring quick reflexes. Ground targets appear in stages, destroyed via a dedicated Burn button. The game progresses from a home planet takeoff into space, with each level featuring laser-disc backgrounds that scroll without interaction. The standout is its lush, futuristic scenery. Laser-disc visuals depict cities, asteroid fields, and crystal caverns, paired with music that elevates the atmosphere. While some scenes hint at unused interactive elements, like dodging asteroids or navigating obstacles, these were stripped out to simplify play. The trade-off leaves a visually striking but mechanically straightforward shooter. Community notes often praise the aesthetics over gameplay depth, calling it a forgotten relic of early arcade experimentation.
