Into the Crops is a horror adventure game set in a shifting cornfield that warps around you. You wield an oil lantern to ward off eldritch entities while navigating the maze-like environment. The game leans into its PS1-era roots with low-poly visuals and tense, slow-burn exploration. You collect fuel to keep the light burning and avoid getting trapped in twisted versions of the field. Made by five students using only C++ and OpenGL, the game’s limitations shape its identity. The cornfield’s design feels reactive and unpredictable, creating unease that lingers. While short and rough around the edges, it nails the claustrophobic atmosphere of classic survival horror.
