Invader is a fast-paced vertical shooter for Game Boy Advance that pits you against waves of aliens across eight levels. Choose between two ships with distinct traits and blast through scrolling stages filled with enemies that drop coins. Spend those in a shop to buy better weapons, extra lives, or more credits. Each level ends with a boss fight as you try to halt an alien invasion threatening a distant solar system. Single-player mode is straightforward, but split-screen multiplayer lets you team up or compete, adding some local chaos. The game’s simple but punchy action leans into classic shoot-em-up tropes with minimal fuss. While the pixelated visuals and tight controls feel dated, the straightforward progression and replayability from different ship choices keep it engaging. Multiplayer is a nice touch, though limited by the hardware. With no modern updates or online features, it appeals mainly to retro fans. Still, the addictive coin grind and boss battles offer a nostalgic fix for 2000s arcade vibes.
Join the fight for freedom in Invader! Your mission: defend the human solar system, Alpha Nerconis, from the evil swarm, a seemingly unstoppable alien force bent on total domination. Grab the controls of either a Rygotian or an Ikaben ship and get ready to join the fast-paced and explosive battle. Only you can stop these invaders, and save the solar system.
