"Finally, it seems we have some competition in the superbike video game space. RiMS Racing is a solid start from RaceWard Studio, and they should be proud of what they have built. From here, expanding upon the bike roster should be priority number one, because we are spoiled for choice in other bike racers. Just the thought of this team getting their hands on new bikes to scan, model, and record gets me excited in much the same way as hearing Polyphony Digital does the same thing to add to their roster of cars. You just know it's going to be given the royal treatment! The parts removal/installation mechanic is neat, but a way to speed on past it would be great for those who play games to get away from the more mundane portions of a hobby. One thing is for sure: it's an invigorating time to be a superbike fan, and RiMS Racing is a great example of why."

iRacing launched on August 26, 2008 as a PC racing simulator that demands serious hardware and internet connectivity. This title from iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations focuses purely on competitive motorsport rather than casual fun. The platform supports both standard PC controls and Oculus Rift for virtual reality immersion. You can jump into NASCAR, rallycross, Aussie Supercars, sports cars, or Grand Prix racing. The game organizes over 150 tracks and cars into 40 official series while allowing users to create private leagues. It remains a subscription-based service that prioritizes physics accuracy over arcade flair for players who want realistic driving dynamics on Windows systems.
You spend your time managing throttle inputs, braking points, and tire wear during intense multiplayer sessions. The core loop involves joining organized events where you race against human opponents rather than bots in a structured environment. Controls rely heavily on force feedback wheels or gamepads connected via USB to register precise steering angles. A typical session requires you to learn track layouts through practice laps before competing in qualifying and feature races. The system handles class-based racing so cars with similar performance metrics compete together. You must communicate with your team for pit strategies and manage fuel levels throughout the event. Every lap demands constant attention to physics changes as weather or tire degradation alters grip levels on the asphalt.
PlayPile members rate iRacing highly despite mixed critic scores. The community average sits at 92.5 out of 100 based on IGDB data from 43 ratings, while Metacritic shows a 79 and OpenCritic lists a 68 with only 36.11% recommendation from critics. Users report an average playtime exceeding 120 hours per account due to the depth of series content. Review snippets note that while some critics feel it lacks accessibility, the simulation aspect draws dedicated fans who prefer realistic physics over arcade shortcuts. The mood remains competitive and technical as players obsess over lap times and telemetry data. Community forums frequently discuss tire wear strategies and car setup adjustments for specific tracks.
This title suits drivers who want a pure competition environment without arcade assists. The price point reflects the subscription model required to access official series and leagues. You earn achievements by completing seasons or winning specific championships within the 40 official series provided. The game demands patience and skill since penalties for track limits are strict. Avoid this if you want instant gratification or casual racing with friends without serious commitment. Players seeking a realistic simulator that rewards practice over luck will find value here. It stands as a functional tool for sim racers rather than a party game.
