İstanbul Efsaneleri: Lale Savaşçıları is a quirky role-playing game where players choose from unconventional character classes like students, employees or "dumps" to fight evil in a comically twisted version of Istanbul. The game blends fantasy with absurd humor letting you wield weapons such as throwing-slippers and cast curses instead of traditional spells. Set in an alternate reality where four friends are pulled through a portal to stop the villainous Sheik Ignorance the story unfolds through full-motion video cutscenes featuring real actors, a rare touch for its time. Released in 1994 this Turkish-made RPG was one of the first of its kind and later got a 2005 revival edition for modern systems. Its oddball charm comes from items like flannel shirts as armor and magicians replaced by figures like "the Silicon Father." While dated by today’s standards its creative worldbuilding and early use of FMV techniques have earned it a cult following. The game’s mix of local flavor and irreverent take on fantasy tropes makes it a curious artifact of early RPG history.

In this reality, an evildoer by the name of Sheik Ignorance is conspiring to spread his ills throughout the world. The four friends are told about this alternate Istanbul's recent history and tasked by an elderly oracle to stop Sheik Ignorance.
