Jambo Safari throws you into a roaring jeep chase across pixelated savannas. Using a steering wheel and gear shift you hunt wild animals flinging your jeep through dust clouds and over rocky hills. Loop them with a lasso before they vanish into the horizon. Choose from four drivers and swap vehicles each with quirky handling. Split screen lets two players team up or battle for the top score. The real charm lies in the gloriously absurd controls. Sega AM2 leans into arcade chaos with rubbery physics and a gear shift that feels like wrestling a live wire. Lasso mechanics add a frantic layer to racing basics making every capture a slapstick ballet of near misses. Released in 1999 it still feels like a carnival ride you can’t look away from. Not many games let you play a safari cowboy in a pixelated Land Rover but fewer let you do it this messily well.
