Set in 2039 where all currency is controlled by an online network called Gold Asset, the game pits players against each other in fast-paced combat. Free Battle mode lets you team up locally or online to steal more money than opponents while Story Mode follows four thief protagonists with ties to legendary heisters. Each character has distinct skills and movesets, and matches blend platforming, item collection, and direct combat. The game leans into its thief lore with characters like Yuichi Endo (a scoundrel from a family of face-stealers) and Shieru Ishikawa (a modern Goemon). Two difficulty settings help newcomers learn without frustration while keeping veterans engaged. Online lobbies and couch co-op make it a flexible pick for quick sessions or longer brawls.
