About

Jimmy Connors Pro Tennis Tour is a straightforward tennis simulator that pits you against opponents in a series of serve-and-return duels. Using crosshairs to aim each shot, you send the ball across the court, adjusting trajectory and power to outmaneuver your rival. Matches unfold as a back and forth rush, with players sprinting to hit returns before the ball bounces twice. The simplicity of the controls belies the skill required to anticipate angles and exploit weaknesses in your opponent's positioning. Aces are possible but rare, demanding precision and timing to pull off. The game saw regional name changes, known as Great Courts 2 in France and Germany and Pro Tennis Tour 2 elsewhere in Europe. A planned Atari Jaguar port teased in 1993 never materialized. While the DOS and Amiga versions leaned on basic 2D sprites, the game’s focus on shot placement and court movement earned it a cult following among retro sports fans. With no online leaderboards or modern polish, its appeal lies in the pure, no-frills challenge of outplaying an AI or local human competitor.
