JoJo's Venture is a 1998 arcade fighter from Capcom that brings the wild style of Hirohiko Araki's manga to the button-masher crowd. Each character wields a Stand, a psychic entity that acts as a customizable fighting proxy. Players toggle between direct attacks and Stand-based combos, using a power gauge to unleash over-the-top super moves. The single-player mode leans into the series' chaotic tone, while local multiplayer lets you test strategies against a friend. The game stands out for its vibrant art direction, blending Capcom's anime flair with Araki's distinctive character designs. Original creator Hirohiko Araki worked closely with developers, even redesigning the character Midler for the roster since her manga debut was too vague. Though overshadowed by Street Fighter III at launch, it gained a cult following for its niche charm.
