Journal Nikki lets you wander the bizarre dreams of a boy named Ichitsuki who can’t leave his room. You navigate shifting, surreal environments filled with abstract spaces and strange encounters while collecting two kinds of items, effects and memories. Each alters your experience differently though their impact isn’t always clear. The gameplay leans into slow exploration and cryptic storytelling as you piece together why Ichitsuki is trapped in his hallway. This fan-made sequel to Yume Nikki has a raw indie charm with its glitchy visuals and unpredictable world design. It’s short but leaves a lingering sense of mystery. While it lacks official backing the game built a dedicated following for its quirky creativity. The dream logic and minimal guidance make it feel like stumbling through someone else’s disjointed thoughts.
