Journey Escape casts you as a roadie racing to shuttle a rock band to their next gig. After each show you funnel band members through chaotic crowds to a waiting van while dodging fans reporters and photographers. Each collision drains cash and precious seconds from your 50000 starting budget. Vertical scrolling levels fill with stage barriers and irritable fans that slow progress without stealing money. Your only allies are opportunistic roadies who briefly shield you from damage but vanish once used. The game ramps up pressure by piling more aggressive crowds as you progress. Early levels let you maneuver freely but later stages feel like herding through a riot. Atari 2600 limitations keep the graphics simple but the frantic pace and resource management feel surprisingly modern for 1982. Multiplayer adds rivalry as players jostle for path clearance. With its mix of timing and tactical spending it holds up as a brisk test of reflexes over 40 years later.
