Jr. Pac-Man reimagines the core mechanics of its predecessor while simplifying the action for a younger audience. You guide a smaller, chubbier character through a maze, gobbling dots and avoiding four pursuing ghosts. Eating a power-up lets you reverse the chase, turning the ghosts vulnerable to temporary devouring. Each cleared maze resets the challenge, encouraging quick reflexes and sharp route planning. The layout is tighter than the original, with simpler paths that trade complexity for speed. Released in 1983, the game added split-screen co-op for local duels, a feature rare in early arcade titles. It ran on home systems like the Atari 2600 and Commodore 64, making it one of the first Pac-Man offshoots to reach living rooms. While it lacks the depth of later entries, its stripped-down design helped introduce the franchise to new players. Over 40 years later, it remains a minor but notable entry in the Pac-Man lineage.
