Jump Super Stars is a 2D fighting game built around characters from Shonen Jump manga titles. Players use the Nintendo DS touch screen and buttons to execute moves in fast-paced brawls. The single-player mode focuses on arcade-style matchups and a story mode that strings together brief scenes from the involved series. Combat leans on timing and memorizing attack patterns rather than deep strategy. The game arrived alongside a limited red Nintendo DS model in Japan. While it never charted high outside its region, it gained a niche following for its roster of 30+ fighters. A sequel titled Jump Ultimate Stars followed in late 2006 but remained region-locked.
