Jumpgate: The Reconstruction Initiative is a space-based MMO where you command your own ship and chase profit across a large galaxy. Battle rival players in dogfights, hunt down enemy targets for cash, or haul resources between stations to fund better gear. Each ship you fly can be customized with weapons, armor, and modules, and the game's sectors are filled with asteroids to mine, stations to trade at, and missions to complete. Movement happens via jumpgates that connect hundreds of sectors, letting you chart a path between combat zones, resource hubs, and bustling trade routes. The game’s open-ended economy and faction-driven conflicts give it a distinct identity. With three factions you can join and two others vying for control, alliances shift constantly. Over 150 sectors form a live, changing map where your actions impact the galaxy. While it never gained massive mainstream traction, its focus on player-driven commerce and combat left a niche mark on space sim fans.
