About

Jungler is a 1981 arcade game where you steer a segmented creature through a maze to outlast and outsmart three rival beasts. Each enemy has distinct rules: red ones shrink your life, yellow ones are harmless, and green ones you can eat. You eliminate foes by shooting segments off them while avoiding collisions. The challenge grows as enemies speed up when they lose body parts. Fruits scattered in the maze add points and length to your creature. Single or two-player action lets you chase high scores or battle head-to-head. What sets Jungler apart is its clever risk-reward system. Players must balance aggression with survival as enemies evolve in real time. The maze layout and fruit placement keep matches unpredictable even after multiple runs. Developed by Konami and published by Stern Electronics, it’s a lesser-known arcade title that leans into simple but strategic gameplay. The 1981 release date places it in the same era as Pac-Man, but its segmented creature mechanics and dual-player mode make it stand out among late 70s/early 80s maze games.
