About

Jurassic Park on Sega CD turns the movie’s chaos into a point-and-click adventure with sudden bursts of shooting. You play a character stranded on Isla Nublar after a helicopter crash, tasked with collecting dinosaur eggs across the park. The 12-hour countdown pushes you through puzzles and encounters with creatures like Procompsognathus, blending exploration with moments of run-and-gun action. Most of the game unfolds through full-motion video clips, giving it a talkie-movie vibe with occasional interactive choices. The mix of slow dialogue scenes and sudden combat creates an uneven rhythm, but the BioSyn twist adds a spy-vs-scientist edge to the story. While the FMV tech feels dated by today’s standards, fans of ’90s adventure games might appreciate the Jurassic Park sequel spirit. The Sega CD version’s visuals and sound don’t match modern standards, but the time-pressure mechanic and park-wide scavenger hunt still offer a distinct challenge.

Storyline

The story takes place after the events of the movie, except with the presence of Procompsognathus. You are sent back to Jurassic Park to retrieve dinosaur eggs from around the park and put them in an incubator. You only have 12 hours to retrieve one egg from every species of dino in the park. Unfortunately, shortly before arriving at the park, the player's helicopter crashes. At the end of the game, the player character discovers that it was BioSyn that shot down your helicopter and that they have arrived on Isla Nublar. The player must then fight their way through BioSyn personnel and steal their helicopter to get off the island and ultimately win the game.
