Kamigami no Asobi InFinite is a visual novel following Yui Kusanagi, a shrine maiden who stumbles upon a magical sword and gets whisked away to a school ruled by Zeus. Here, she interacts with a cast of divine figures from Greek mythology while navigating school life, romantic subplots, and Zeus’s cryptic lessons on human relationships. Players make choices that shape Yui’s bonds with characters like the charming Ares and the aloof Poseidon. The story spans four distinct routes, each with new scenarios and endings expanding on the original game’s premise. The title blends Shinto traditions with Greek myth, offering detailed art and a lighthearted tone. The PlayStation Vita version includes improved visuals and a smoother interface compared to the PSP release. Community discussions highlight its polished character designs and the satisfying depth of secondary routes, though the narrative remains firmly rooted in otome tropes. With around 20 hours of gameplay per route, it appeals to fans of school-based dating sims with a mythological twist.
The heroine, Yui Kusanagi, is the daughter of a Shinto shrine. She discovers a mysterious sword, which transports her to a different world where she meets the Greek god Zeus. He invites her to attend a school in a separate world that he created. Zeus intends to teach the meaning of love to the various young divine beings who also attend the school, in an attempt to reverse the weakening bond between humans and the gods.
