Katakis is a 1988 shooter where you pilot a space glider to free a planet ruled by rogue machines. The story’s a classic rebellion flick, aliens tried nukes, failed, now they’re scrambling fighters to take back their world. Gameplay is all about fast-paced dogfights and dodging waves of mechanical enemies. It’s a two-player co-op or head-to-head battle affair, depending on how many people can wrestle a joystick. This Amiga/C64 relic holds up for its relentless action and tight controls. The environments are basic but frantic, with explosions and enemy designs that stick to retro simplicity.
