Katamari Online is a PC-based MMO adventure that reimagines the whimsical rolling mechanics of the Katamari Damacy series for shared play. As The Prince, you fix a chaotic black hole by rolling through themed zones, collecting objects to grow your katamari. The game blends solo and multiplayer modes, letting players tackle stages solo or team up for cooperative challenges. Maps reuse locations from earlier titles like the CowBear level, while minigames add variety to the core loop of gathering and growing. The game’s most notable trait is its reliance on familiar Katamari aesthetics and level design, which appealed to series veterans. Though it launched in 2010 and shut down in 2012, archived gameplay clips show polished but niche execution. With limited records of its four-year run, it remains a curious entry in the franchise. Casual fans might miss its quirky charm, while hardcore followers appreciate the recycled but functional online twist.
The King, Queen, and Prince are out in the cosmos, on a fishing trip. The three of them are sat on a planet as they cast their lines. The king manages to accidentally hook a large bath plug with his fishing rod, pulling it out of the hole. This causes a black hole to form and begin pulling in the surrounding objects. The King and Queen pause to stare at each other for a brief moment before flying off, leaving The Prince alone to sort it out. The scene closes out onto The Prince's face, showing him looking irate in a comical moment.
