About

Kid A Mnesia Exhibition is a single-player adventure that reimagines the abstract world of Radiohead’s Kid A and Amnesiac albums. You navigate a large forest of pencil-drawn architecture and glitchy digital spaces, piecing together fragments of the band’s music and archival artwork. The environment shifts unpredictably, blending eerie sculptures, distorted soundscapes, and cryptic text from Stanley Donwood and Thom Yorke. Movement feels less like progression and more like drifting through a fractured memory, with music tracks deconstructed into ambient textures that reshape as you interact with the world. What lingers is the game’s uncanny atmosphere, built from the same unease and innovation as the albums it honors. Without explicit goals or tutorials, players freely explore mutated creatures, multitrack recordings, and Donwood’s labyrinthine sketches. Though it lacks traditional gameplay mechanics, its 2021 release drew praise from fans and critics for its bold reinterpretation of the source material. A small but dedicated community still discusses its hidden details, cementing it as a niche oddity for those drawn to abstract art and experimental audiovisual design.

Storyline

Kid A Mnesia is a fevered dream-space, an edifice, built from the art & creatures, words & recordings of Radiohead’s Kid A and Amnesiac uncovered from 20 odd years ago, reassembled and given new mutant life. Stanley Donwood and Thom Yorke’s twisted anxious artwork and writing made to accompany the music of Radiohead’s Kid A and Amnesiac is uncovered and brought back to life, in a building hidden in a forest made in pencil, stretching the idea of what an exhibition is to breaking point.. or into something else entirely. The original multitrack recordings of Kid A and Amnesiac are scattered and reformed in a series of impossible or possible spaces populated by equally impossible or possible creatures, surrounded by the art of Stanley Donwood and Thom Yorke, created as the millenium loomed.
