Kid Dracula is a side-scrolling platformer where you play a vampire kid with a knack for magic and mischief. You leap, cast spells, and transform into a bat to navigate spooky castles and defeat creatures. The game mixes basic platforming with simple spellcasting, letting you switch between forms to solve puzzles and dodge hazards. Your goal is to outwit the villainous Galamoth, who stole your dad's cape and declared war on your royal rule. Levels feature classic 90s platforming challenges, from floating coffins to spiked traps. This Game Boy title earned a cult following for its goofy tone and creative level design. The bat transformation adds variety, letting you access hidden paths and escape tight spots. While not part of the main Castlevania series, it shares a few nods to broader lore through Galamoth’s backstory. Released in 1993, it’s a brisk, if short, adventure with retro charm. Players note the difficulty spikes in later stages but praise the quirky humor and colorful visuals. A forgotten gem for fans of old-school platformers.
The story of Boku Dracula-kun is relatively simple: the self-proclaimed Demon King, Kid Dracula, has awoken from a long sleep, only to discover that the dinosaur Galamoth has challenged him. Swiping his father's cape, it's then up to Kid Dracula himself to set out on a journey to destroy the monster and retake his throne. Although not related to the actual Castlevania storyline, Galamoth, the villain of the Boku Dracula-kun series, is responsible for starting the events seen in Castlevania Judgment; this somehow created a connection. According to the Boku Dracula-kun series, Kid Dracula is 10,009 years old. In Castlevania Judgment, Galamoth sends the Time Reaper from 10,000 years in the future.
