KimiKiss is a visual novel dating sim where you spend a month at school trying to kiss a girl. Each day you pick where to hang out hoping to bump into one of the available girls. When you meet you either watch a short scene or engage in a conversation. The conversation system has five rounds where you select topics from a list you prepare. Success depends on figuring out which topics each girl likes best. The game’s character art by Kisai Takayama gives it a distinct look. The time limit and focus on chance encounters create a playful low-pressure vibe. Though released in 2006 the core mechanics of preparation and match-based dialogue are still engaging for fans of the genre. Its simple yet strategic approach to dating sim gameplay has earned it a small but dedicated following.
