"Ultimately Kingdom is a game that's easy to love. Combining exploration, micromanagement and strategy in a way that continually feels personal and intimate is no easy task, but it achieves it by forcing you to do everything yourself. While simplicity is the key to the game's mechanics, keeping everything on a very human scale is probably at the core of how it makes you feel. Very few strategy or management games manage to present things on a street level scale, but Kingdom does it perfectly and it's all the better for it."

About

Build and manage your own medieval kingdom in this browser-based strategy game. Focus on resource gathering, troop training, and defending against invasions while balancing economic growth. The gameplay loops emphasize long-term planning with frequent micro-management tasks. Animal husbandry plays a central role thanks to detailed livestock mechanics that feel more involved than typical sim games. Originally a personal project to practice animation techniques, the browser version ran on all major platforms until 2020. Its simple yet deep mechanics earned a dedicated following, leading to a full-featured Steam release years later. The fluid horse animations from the original project remain a standout element, giving units a distinct visual flair that sets it apart from similar titles.
