About

Kira-kira Star Night DX is a colorful platformer where you guide Fami-chan through nine stages filled with floating stars and tight time limits. Each level tasks you with gathering a set number of stars while dodging hazards and navigating shifting terrain. The action is set to a chiptune soundtrack by a roster of retro game music legends. Simple controls and straightforward level design make it easy to pick up but tricky to master. The game runs on PC and classic systems like the NES. The standout here is the music, featuring work from composers like Yuzo Koshiro and Manami Matsumae. Community reviews highlight the charm of the whimsical story about a girl helping her boyfriend-turned-mouse collect scattered stars. While the visuals lean pixel-art nostalgic, the tight pacing and replay value keep things fresh. A small but dedicated fanbase praises its balance of challenge and charm.

Storyline

A strange mouse that could speak came into Kirara-chan's room. It was her boyfriend, Night-kun, who had been punished by the moon goddess and had turned into a different person. After making a big fuss in the castle of stars to get the first star that would make his wish come true, he scattered the sleeping stars all over the place. "So it was pitch black tonight, with not a star to be seen." Until he catches the escaped stars and restores the night sky to its original state, Night-kun will not be able to return to his human form. "But I can't collect stars in my tiny little form! Please, Kira-chan. Please, Kira, collect the lost stars for me! Please help me!" I can't leave my friend in trouble. Kirara is a kind girl. She puts on her magic shoes and jumps from the window of her room! Thus began Kirara-chan's great adventure.
