Kirby no Omochabako: Hoshi Kuzushi is a fast-paced breakout variant where Kirby serves as the bouncing ball. Instead of a standard paddle, two hamsters grip a trampoline-like bat that bounces Kirby upward. Players must dislodge stars from blocks by hitting them, then catch those stars midair to keep a crucial counter from depleting. Each ground contact lowers the counter by 10, while landing with stars above zero grants one extra bounce. The tension comes from balancing aggressive block breaks with careful star management to avoid losing lives. Stage six shifts the formula entirely, ditching blocks for a direct battle against King Dedede. He hurls hammers at the hamsters, who become temporarily unresponsive if struck. Defeating Dedede requires precise timing and momentum control. As part of the Kirby’s Toy Box series, this game was only available via Japan’s Satellaview satellite system during a limited broadcast window, making it a niche title even among fans. The star mechanics and sudden difficulty spike in later stages create a sharp contrast with typical breakout fare.
