About

Kiss the Demiurge is a visual novel about a woman who hides magical truths while wrestling with her own emotions. Minori sees herself as a tool for suppressing magic’s existence but crosses paths with three girls who idolize it. Each has quirks a mile wide, one botches psychic readings, another claims to speak with spirits, and a third boasts of magical samurai ancestry. Minori’s job is to shut their club down before they uncover real power. But the more time she spends with them, the harder it becomes to ignore her growing feelings. The story unfolds through branching choices that shape relationships and outcomes, balancing dry humor with heartfelt moments. The game stands out for its character-driven drama and tight writing. Players navigate a web of personal stakes where Minori’s rigid self-image clashes with her desire for connection. With nine distinct endings and routes exploring themes of identity and acceptance, it leans into slice-of-life charm without skimping on emotional weight. A 78% on Critic Aftermath highlights its strengths in dialogue and pacing, though some note the lack of combat or action. For fans of narrative depth over spectacle, it’s a quiet but compelling experience.

Storyline

Minori is a mage tasked with hiding magic from the world. She feels a very intense attraction to other girls, but has spurned love for the sake of her mission. In fact, she doesn't even think of herself as a human being, but as a machine with one singular purpose. One day she stumbles upon a magic club at a local high-school. The club consists of a group of three girls obsessed with magic. One is a shy fortune teller whose predictions always go wrong, another is a graceful beauty who claims she can talk to ghosts, and another is a hotheaded tomboy who claims to be descended from a clan of magic samurai. All three of them are delusional, and don't understand anything about real magic. The very concept of the club enrages Minori, and she sets out to destroy the club and make sure they never discover real magic. But she slowly finds herself falling for the girls. Will she stamp out their magical ambitions? Or will it turn out that the real magic is love between two girls?
