"Judging a primarily multiplayer title always comes with a caveat. Chainsawesome has developed a game of excellent fundamentals that, under ideal conditions, could provide endless hours of fast-paced, chaotic fun. The lack of meaningful content for the single player is not a major issue – this is not a title meant for gaming's recluses. With already shaky matchmaking, and the chances of regularly rounding up four or five spare Xbox controllers (let alone willing playmates) in the same living room rather slim, however, some of Knight Squad's potential is sadly squandered."

Knight Squad lets 1 to 8 players brawl as knights in an arena-based brawler mixing melee combat and item-based tactics. Take down rivals with swords, shields, and explosive power-ups while navigating shifting environments. Fight solo or team up for cooperative runs through Destiny’s Tower, where each floor presents new obstacles and enemies. Versus mode adds chaotic head-to-head battles for local or online matches. The game stands out for its flexible multiplayer options and fast-paced action. Up to eight players can join the same session locally or online making it a social pick for parties. While the 2015 release shows its age in visuals it remains praised for responsive controls and varied weapon upgrades. Available on PC Switch and consoles it caters to both couch co-op and solo challenge runs.
