About

Knuckle Busters drops you in the shoes of a fugitive criminal fleeing an experimental lab. This 1986 Commodore 64/Spectrum brawler tasks you with battling through waves of enemies using fists, pipes, and whatever you can grab. The top-down perspective and timed attacks create a tense fast-paced rhythm that keeps action flowing. Simple controls mask a surprisingly deep combat system balancing aggression with defense. While the story is thin the game's reputation rests firmly on Rob Hubbard's synth-heavy soundtrack. His work here became a defining example of 8-bit music's creative potential. Retro players still cite the track Escape as one of the era's most memorable themes. With no multiplayer modes and dated graphics its main appeal lies in nostalgic value and the chance to hear Hubbard's iconic score in action.
