Koko Adventure is a side scrolling platformer from 1993 that never made it to Western shelves. Developed by Open Corp for Japan's Famicom system it features fast paced running jumping and enemy dodging across brightly colored levels. The game follows two characters navigating obstacles and boss fights with simple controls and a straightforward goal structure. Its mechanics feel typical of early 90s platforming but the art style and character designs show distinct regional influences not commonly seen in contemporary Japanese releases. While largely forgotten outside niche retro circles the game remains a curiosity for its origin story. Open Corp would later gain attention for other titles but this early effort is notable as one of the first known Famicom games developed in South Korea. Fans of obscure platformers might recognize its DNA in later Korean games that pushed the NES hardware. With no official American release and limited documentation available Koko Adventure exists as a rare artifact of 90s game development experimentation.
